Traineeships
Traineeships are a combination of “earning and learning” and can be offered to new and existing staff in a wide variety of areas. They are recognised as one of the best ways an employee can develop both practical skills and theoretical knowledge towards the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification. Simply speaking, traineeships are a great way to build a career and an even better way for employers to "grow their own" competent, loyal and enthusiastic staff .
Traineeships last from one to two years, however they are 'competency based' which means it may be possible for the training to be completed earlier if the trainee has reached the skill level required. It is even possible to start a traineeship while still at school.
Traineeships delivered by Blueprint Career Development are flexible. Our structured training is provided at times that suit business operations. Our industry experienced trainers use blended learning techniques, including advanced multimedia that enable trainees to implement knowledge and skills immediately.
Since training is not your core business, we help simplify the whole process by putting you in touch with key contacts and making the necessary arrangements to get started. The employer and trainee select the units of competency best suited to their needs and learning is paced according to trainee comprehension and business demands. Recognition of Prior Learning is also offered so trainees who have relevant work or life experience need not undertake training in areas where competence has already been demonstrated.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Blueprint Career Development is able to offer the following qualifications under the traineeship program:
- Certificates II & III in Hospitality (Operations)
- Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision)
- Certificate IV in Business Services (Frontline Management)
- Certificat IV in Business Services (Employment Services)
- Certificate II & III in Retail (Operations)
Traineeships are covered by formal contracts known as 'Training Agreements'. These agreements set out the training and supervision an employer must provide for the employee, as well as the employee’s obligations as a trainee.
Government funding incentives may be available to eligible trainees, including existing employees. For more information about eligibility, please contact your local Australian Apprenticeship Centre.
